I have no clue what the veggies you showed are... but the one does look like baby cauliflower... the other is likely just some sort of green... I would taste it raw and see if it's peppery or whatnot... then use it likely in a salad or on a sandwich.

As for the parsnips... I like to mash them like potatoes... they are sweeter and if you mix them with the potatoes they add a nice surprise. I have also had them in many soups, just like you would use carrots. I would imagine they would also be good sliced up and sauteed with some balsamic vinegar... mmm, yum!

Eeek - I did NOT care for sugar cane. Well, I've just had fresh sugar cane juice, and it was gross.

But if they have it get dragonfruit. It's beautiful! The flavor isn't terribly remarkable, at least not that I recall, but it's quite good and in SEAsia they eat it for weight control - it's a diet fruit :)

Well, I didn't have a bag big enough to marinade the Indo chicken, so I'll have that and fried Brussel Sprouts this week. Rest will be:

Seriously Simple Chicken Chili and Salad

Ginger pan fried pork chops and roasted veggies

Grilled marinated flank steak and roasted asperagus parmesean

Mojo pork roast and baked zucchini fries

I will definately make it again also. It was so easy you can't go wrong with it. I will go the broth/wine combo route next time though. It was just a little over powering. But a definate keeper!

I am leaving for Boston on Friday so my menu for the week is short. However, it involves ALL food from your blog! I am going to try that cajun shrimp linguine you just made...looks delish! Also making Chicken Tamale Casserole, pork chops with maple/mustard glaze with the warm brussell sprouts, and the chicken green chile wtih white beans soup. I love that stuff, especially with the sour cream. I wouldn't eat it without it! Thanks for making my kitchen HOT again :)

I love chayote!!! My Mom Mom used to have one of these growing all up the side of her house. She would cut it in half and roast it with some salt, pepper and butter. It was good! But I haven't made one as an adult so I'm not sure if she did anything else to it. If you can figure out how you like it, it might be a nice addition to your veggie rotation :)
